South Texas- As first pitch draws near now to less than an hour away I thought it be a great time to check back in. 6 games ring in a new season of NAIA Ball and as I enter year 7 of doing this I think about how blessed we are to have you here. The brain child of my friend Cody Butler has morphed into this big beautiful machine and together with you we have made it be. For me it’s excitement mixed with sadness of missing Cody, this was a special time for us. It’s a day we looked forward to each and every year, over and over wondering about the upcoming season. But then there’s joy, unbridled joy, knowing that we are blessed to do this for you because of Cody. For many of us this is it, this is the major leagues and there wont be anything like it after. You’ll eventually long for the days in the dugout, the long practices, and the uncomfortable bus rides to places rarely known. No one will know your school, or where you’re located, but what does that matter? We get to play baseball today. This is all we want, just a bit more time playing the game we love surrounded by people we love. Conner, Taylor, Tyler, Max, Milan, and myself don’t do this for fame or glory, and there’s almost no money to be made. Were a group of tv sales manager, traffic coordinators, two job hustlers, sports information gurus, and lovers of the game. A game that made us who we are today! We do this for you, we always have and always will. Thanks for loving this game, our game with us. I am so thankful that you’re here!
